Equipment Overview

The Great Plains UT5042 is a 42-foot Ultra-Till implement designed for secondary field operations and one-pass field finishing prior to planting. It can be used in the spring as a secondary tillage tool or in the fall for primary tillage. The Ultra-Till helps to warm the soil and smooth out the seedbed. It uses Great Plains Turbo Cutters to cut residue and loosen the seedbed. Two rows of angled harrow gangs then mix the residue back into the soil, leaving a smooth, firm surface. Optional reels can be added for additional smoothing. It's often compared to a soil finisher or field cultivator, but without the shank-mounted sweeps that can create compaction.
